Bengali Wedding Day Rituals
A Bengali Wedding often referred to as ‘Biye ’is quite a visual treat. A host of deep, meaningful rituals seeped in culture and tradition are performed elegantly. Today we discuss wedding day rituals of Bengali wedding which are also having the same spirit that had been seen in the pre-wedding Rituals of Bengali wedding . After Gaye Holud, the bride proceeds to get ready for the Wedding Day evening. Typically Groom wears Kurta with dhoti and dots of sandalwood paste on his forehead. He also carries around a brass object with a long handle. The bride is very special in Bengali Matrimonial . Generally, she wears red benarasi saree and lots of jewelry. She also carries a small wooden container filled with the Sindoor and one rupee coin. Wedding day rituals are: Bor Jatri and Boron After receiving the blessing of his mother, the groom sits in the car which is sent by the bride’s family to reach the wedding venue. Family members and friends also accompanied them. When th
